Priorities for Chicago Schools
-
The purpose of Chicago Public Schools is to educate and serve students. Student outcomes, experiences, safety, and opportunities should be the Board’s north star.
I will keep student impact at the center of Board priorities, discussions, and decisions; push for clear student-outcome goals and regular public reporting; and make sure students themselves have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their schools.
-
A resource, service, or opportunity only matters if students can actually access it. CPS must identify where students and families are being underserved and make sure promised resources, services, information, and opportunities actually reach them.
I will focus on the fundamentals, including instruction time and quality, special education services, language access, staffing, and safety, while pushing CPS to identify disparities, measure progress, and ensure every Chicago student has the same access to opportunity

A democratically elected School Board should be present, prepared, transparent, and accountable to the communities it serves.
I will bring conversations into District 7A, seek community input before consequential decisions are made, and explain major votes and decisions afterward. I will also push for credible budgets, responsible oversight, and transparent long-term planning so CPS can strengthen schools before they reach crisis and build strong public schools for years to come.
